If you don't know me by now...

Blech.  I hate that song. And, blech, I just realized that I can actually summarize my life in song lyrics.  Isn't that pathetic?
So, since you're here, you probably want to know about me.  I've realized that I've poured out my heart and soul on this blog...and never actually introduced myself.

I'm Katie.
I am a 32 year old superhero.  (mostly in my own mind.)
I am married to another superhero named Tim.  He's the best part of my life.  No kidding.
We have no children, because, let's be honest.... it's none of your business and what with us being superheroes and all, it would be completely unfair to the rest of the world.
I do, however, play mother to two furry babies with tails, Jack the Cat and LilyBelle the Cat.
I work my dream job everyday at a local music store in the wholesale division as an account executive.
My husband works with foster kids.  All day.  Every day.
We are an LDS Power Couple.  My husband was called to be the Young Men's President in our ward at the same time that I was called to be the Primary President.
(I seriously almost swore in the bishop's office...for real)
I have dedicated the last couple of years of my life to those primary kids.  I have adopted every single one of them and love them more than I ever thought I could.
I love my family.  I am the oldest of four kids...and the only girl.  And the shortest.  And the most round.  Or roundest, whatever. And also, the prettiest.
I am the crazy, eccentric aunt that everyone warns their kids about.
My favorite hobby is spoiling the people I love.
My favorite colors are neon colors...mostly because they're so obnoxious.
My favorite foods are ones that I can eat.
My favorite chore is dreaming about how I can make one of my cats do the dishes.
My favorite movies are mostly black and white...or have Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Julie Andrews or any combination of the actors listed.
I have a severe music addiction.  I currently have over a thousand songs on my MP3 player.  And I keep buying more.  Are there groups for that?
I love the idea of being domestic, until I actually have to do it.  Ha.
I don't like long walks on the beach...or anywhere for that matter.
I like to shoot guns, drive my truck in the mud and explore places that aren't on maps.
I love animals...  I like to shoot them.  With my camera.
I leave the real animal shooting to my super hunter husband.
I love to play card games, because most of the time you only need two people...and I don't make friends easily.
I love to play instruments.  Any kind.  Currently, the guitar.
I wish I could twinkle my nose like Samantha in Bewitched and change things...or just clean my bathroom without actually stepping foot inside of it.
I think mustaches are hilarious.
I love action movies.  The good, dangerous, kind with fast American Muscle cars and lots of , well, action.
I am a HUGE sports fan.  I love the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning almost as much as I love my husband...and breathing.  I love my Oregon Ducks.  I love my New York Yankees and my Miami Heat.  Except hockey. And soccer.  And golf.  BOOOOOOORING.
My all time favorite song is, of course, I Am A Child of God.
And, now I'm sleepy.
So, feel free to tell me about you too in the comments...mostly because I'm bored...and nosy.

You may be sorry you asked, but...

Hi Katie. I'm Shelly.

I grew up next door to a superhero. At least that is the rumor.

I don't consider myself a superhero, but I'm doing my best to be a hero to 5 of the most amazing little people I've ever met! Those hero duties recently consist of things like creating student government posters, applying to new middle schools, braiding hair, potty training, and trying really hard to get a super cute little munchkin to take his first steps!

My best friend in the world is my husband. I have no idea how I got so lucky.

My parents are my heros.

I consider anyone who keeps their laundry done up to have super powers. I can't remember the last time I was caught up!

I fancy myself to be a creative person, but am overly critical of my own work and rarely share it- other than a few photoshop creations.

I love to do puzzles but it's been ages since I've been able to do one with more than 25 pieces. It's not a good activity with a 1 year old. Cross stitch is in the same category.

I play the guitar and the piano, but only good enough to 'play around' and NEVER in front of anyone but my immediate family. And I played percussion in middle school.

I LOVE playing cards! But rarely get to because I have a hard time finding anyone who will play with me. I never learned to play penuckle. Or how to spell it.

I've had my current church calling longer than I've ever had a calling before- just over 2 years. It's also my favorite. I am the ward chorister.

I worked for the IRS for almost 8 years, but NO, I don't know how to do your taxes. ;) I've also worked as a waitress, a telemarketer, a motel manager, a census worker, the editor of a newspaper, and I kinda sell jewelry in my spare time.

I ran for city council.

I love to cook. Especially love to bake. I am learning how to make danish- literally have the dough in my fridge right now. I enjoy eating too.

I love shooting guns.

I LOVE riding on the back of my husbands motorcycle and one day MIGHT learn to drive it myself. But probably not.

My favorite color is red.

I have edited this comment about 100 times.

And I use the word BUT too much in this 'autobiography' length comment.

I will keep mine short and sweet. Just like me. I also consider myself a superhero. Currently trying to figure out my power, but I think it has something to do with being a full time working mom of a 3 yr old, managing the finances, cleaning the house, gardening and some craftiness. Not that I love them all, but I get to do them.
I like my calling and I love my primary class. I am learning more about Joseph Smith and the history of the church.
My favorite colors are purple and pink. I am a total girl. I look best in purples, blues, reds and pinks. Wish I could wear orange.
I am currently loving granola in yogurt. I think peanut butter and chocolate should be their own food group. My favorite part of the oreo is the cookie.
Someday we will figure out how we are related. I think it may have something to do with my great great grandfather Hugh Hurst or Hugh Grant Hurst who had like four wives.
I like hula hooping while watching TV. Right now I am a bit obsessed with Fringe on Netflix. I actually enjoy running on the treadmill and prefer it over going outside.

That's me.
